How to check: With the car on level ground and the engine cool, remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it fully and remove it again. The oil should sit between the MIN and MAX marks.
Top-up: Use the grade stated in the vehicle handbook, add a little at a time and avoid overfilling.
Screen wash reservoir
Location: At the front corner of the engine bay, identified by its blue cap and windscreen-washer symbol.
How to check: Open the cap and visually check whether the reservoir needs topping up.
Tip: Use a suitable screen wash mixture rather than plain water, particularly during cold weather.
Engine coolant
Location: At the front of the engine bay near the battery. Use the translucent expansion tank and its level markings for the routine check.
How to check: Only check the coolant when the engine is cold. The level should be between the MIN and MAX marks.
Important: The metal pressure cap shown in the image is not the point to open for a routine learner-driver check.
Leave hybrid components alone
The mild-hybrid system is not part of the normal Show Me Tell Me checks. Do not touch electrical connections, covered hybrid components or any orange high-voltage cabling. Only identify and check the ordinary service items shown in this guide.
